A man travelled an arduous journey over many years. He carried a great load and often dragged his heavy shoes on the dusty surface of the road. Sometimes he kicked at stones in frustration.
One day he cursed the road, “Where is my destination?” he cried. “Why don’t you have street lights or signs?”
The next morning the road had vanished.
Soon the man was lost and contrite, but it was too late. He wondered around aimlessly. He walked in circles. He longed for the road, but he couldn’t find it.
